A Bunch of Hoopy Froods

First off, some apologies.

- Sorry Animator, for still not having your pic done I'm aiming to get it scanned by the beginning of next week!
- Sorry to all the Ford Prefect fans out there for making him look like a used car salesman with that jacket. All I have to say in my defense is: "It seemed like a good idea at the time."
- Sorry to all the Zaphod Beeblebrox fans for going all cheapo on his third arm. I was going to make it so that he was admiring himself in a dinky little mirror, but I couldn't get the elbow anatomy to work right. So now he's... er... pointing at something offscreen. Right.
- Lastly, sorry to for sort of riffing off of her Zaphod Beeblebrox character design. [link] I didn't really mean to, but once I got the blonde hair and orange sash in, I realized purple was really the only colour that went properly with those!

This picture was single-handedly responsible for making me skive off on my homework today. I couldn't resist CGing it.

*cough* Ok. I've been rereading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy lately, and have once again fallen head-over-heels crazy in love with it. This was my attempt at getting the characters out of my head and down on paper. From left to right, Trillian, Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect and Zaphod "I'm so hip, I have difficulty seeing over my pelvis" Beeblebrox. Marvin isn't in there because I've never been able to nail down a clear mental image of him.

These character designs are a lot different from how I used to picture these guys... for instance, my last attempt at drawing Ford ended up looking like Martin Short on crack, and when I was little I pictured Zaphod as looking a bit like a two-headed Mo-Ron from Freakazoid. And Arthur has glasses because... I've always pictured him with glasses. Go figure.

Now that I've got these down, I might try to illustrate bits and pieces of the book. But if I do, I'll wait 'til I don't have loads of homework
