Also known as "Watch Out For Falling Grannies!", or alternately, "WRETCH!" *whackwhackwhack* XD
... If you didn't catch either of those jokes, then you've never played Earthworm Jim 2, and I am sad for you.
Anyways. *deepbreath* Have you ever had a picture that you spent loads and loads of time working on? You tinker with the colouring day in and day out, trying new tricks and lighting and whatnot? And as you work, the file size of said picture balloons up to multiple MB, and ends up slowing down your colouring program to match the pace of a geriatric snail oozing its way through a puddle of molasses? And despite all this, you still can't make the bloody picture look right?
Well, ok, I'm exaggerating, but that's more or less what happened with this picture. It's a scene from the first level of Earthworm Jim 2, where Jim randomly ends up in an old folk's home, and has to avoid grannies falling from the sky who mercilessly beat him about the head with umbrellas while yelling "wretch!" if they land on him.
I've been trying to get a decent drawing of Jim done for years, since he's forever and always my hero, and I think this is the closest I've come to achieving that. The anatomy is pretty wonky, and the picture still needs lots and lots of work, but I'm more or less happy with how the pic looks at this point.
More work shall be done on this! *strikes a valiant pose*

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
